The Holiday Sharing Tree

The Holiday Sharing Tree was founded in 1985 and is a non-profit, seasonal gift-giving project that runs from July - December annually. Our organization provides each project recipient with a gift (valued at approximately $25) so that despite need, they will have a gift to open at Christmas. The Holiday Sharing Tree project is funded primarily by individual and corporate/organizational donations. Special fundraising/grant opportunities arise occasionally, but our primary source of funding is through public donations.

The annual project usually begins with a Kick-Off Ceremony the week before Thanksgiving. Final collection, sorting and distribution of the gifts occur during the week prior to Christmas.

Volunteers are needed for various activities during the project such as

-Gift wrapping
-Gift sorting
-Gift distribution
-Gift shopping
-Gift card distribution at places of employment
